Job Title: HSE Officer

Job Role
- Responsible for carrying out inspection of workplaces and taking necessary actions to ensure compliance
- Developing and implementing relevant HSE policies and procedures
- Conducting risks assessment and developing a HSE gap analysis for Green Africa
- Highlighting non-compliance of safety issue(s) with assigned Project Manager / Facility Manager and recording discussions inclusive of recommendations with timelines for management’s information and follow-up action
- Producing status reports monthly and undertaking follow-up on recommended remedial actions to ensure compliance
- Preparing and issuing HSE information/guidelines to the Head of department as necessary
- Assisting drafting and implementation of an Employee Health and Safety Handbook, Templates for the conduct of Risks Assessments and any other HSE Guidelines forms for use throughout the Organization
- Completing HSE Audits in accordance with the OSH Act and Amendments and the approved Audit Plans
- Performing Health & Safety Risk Assessments at an assigned location – both scheduled and unscheduled
- Assisting in carrying out industrial hygiene surveys.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Diploma in any field
- Proven experience in Health and Safety Management
- Proficient in computer-based applications used for hazard reporting and risk assessment
- Have relevant certifications or qualifications as regards Health and Safety Management System
- Understanding of HSE fundamentals
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Thorough knowledge of current health and safety best practices and standards
- Certification in Behavioural Safety Management will be an added advantage.
