Job Description:
We are in search of an experienced Sales / Business Development Manager to lead our business growth strategies and drive achievements within our Warehousing division. As a crucial member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in establishing new client relationships, identifying market prospects, and attaining revenue objectives.

Role Overview:
The Sales / Business Development Manager will play a key role in expanding our operations, with a specific focus on our Warehousing segment. Your responsibilities will include building a robust network of contacts, analyzing market dynamics, and guiding growth initiatives. Your strategic insights will be pivotal in forecasting sales, projecting revenue, and enhancing our client portfolio.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Take charge of the business development division, coordinating efforts to meet annual targets.
  • Stimulate demand and revenue growth in the Warehousing sector through strategic business development.
  • Cultivate a deep understanding of our company’s services to identify promising business prospects.
  • Evaluate past business development strategies, offering actionable suggestions for refinement.
  • Drive team performance by mentoring and implementing effective performance management strategies.
  • Identify and convert potential clients into revenue opportunities through targeted outreach.
  • Utilize focused cold-calling within your designated market to maintain a strong pipeline.
  • Recognize key decision-makers within potential client organizations and establish meaningful connections.
  • Build new business relationships through comprehensive research and engagement.
  • Provide well-informed, research-backed insights to stakeholders.
  • Facilitate meetings between client decision-makers and our practice leaders.
  • Develop and tailor pitches to resonate with potential clients.
  • Collaborate with the team to create proposals that align with client needs.
  • Compile necessary documentation for requests for proposals (RFPs).
  • Address objections skillfully, steering conversations toward positive resolutions.
  • Utilize persuasive and negotiation techniques while maintaining professionalism.
  • Formulate and execute a comprehensive strategy for achieving monthly sales targets.
  • Conduct regular Monthly Performance Reviews (MPRs) with your team.
  • Undertake additional assignments as delegated by your Line Manager.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
  • 4 years of post-university work experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role or team management.
  • Essential experience in the Warehousing business domain.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate sales and marketing teams.
  • Excellent understanding of the Nigerian Supply Chain landscape.
  • Proficient in time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong aptitude for research and strategic thinking.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Sound ethical judgment and decision-making capabilities.
